Look where Billy has shown you. The model number will be a three digit number. The serial number is stamped just below the model number. It will be something between 77271 and 116367 if it's a 1956.

The three digit model number will start with a 6. Possible model numbers are: 620, 630, 640, 650, 660. The model number tells you which transmission it has and a few other items. Here's a brief synopsis:

620: bare bones model with no hydraulics and pto optional. 4 speed trans.
630: Step up from the 620. Has three point hitch, but no proofmeter. 4 speed trans.
640: Another step up. Probably the most common model of the 600 series. Has pto, three point hitch, proofmeter.
650: Same as a 640 except with a 5 speed trans.
660: Same as a 650 except for the addition of a dual clutch and live pto. All other 600 models have transmission pto.
