There were some that had a "one lunger" engine on them. The one that comes to mind is the International Harvester Titan. Altman Taylor mounted a single cylinder gas engine on a steam traction engine frame and just cut the end off the boiler so the tubes were exposed and used that as a radiator. The problem with this question is that "hit and miss" has become a generic term for most any one lunger, so when someone says hit and miss you can't be sure if it is that or if it is throttle governed.
