I go along w/you 100%, we have had a draught 3 of the last 5 years and flooded in the other 2. I put up our best hay for the horses, and the rest no matter how rough goes to the cattle. Them old cows have all winter to sort out the briars. We've had to improvise, I found that the molasses blocks and rice straw make a good team. I also learned that I can leave the pastures ragged instead of clean cut, give the cows the molasses blocks and they do pretty good. The blocks make them eat the weeds and stems for their roughage, and they clean the pastures up for me.
