I turned 62 this year and I am retired from a physically
demanding job. I understand lower body pain, I have had 8 knee
surgerys but still have my original ones. I see the bone doc once
a week for a bad back and neck. My hearing is shot too,

I enjoy walking 3 - 4 miles in the morning with my dog, I enjoy
working in the shop 6 to 8 hours a day on my tractor
restoration, I enjoy boating on the lake once a week, I enjoy
riding the ATV in the spring and fall, I enjoy working around the
outside of the house. I enjoy visits from my grandkids.

In my shop I have a large soft recliner that sits in front of the
wood stove. I take a rest there two or three times a day when
working in the shop. I even take a daily nap there.

This is what I like about retirement, work when you want to, rest
when you feel like it, and play as often as the weather will allow.

But as Old said, sometimes I feel like just resting all day. I
don't let it happen too often because I am concerned that if I do,
it may become normal. I saw my healthy uncle retire and sit
down in front of the TV. He was dead 6 months later from
"normal conditions".

Disabilities are a different thing and I can't relate to their effects
combined with aging. Hang in there Old.
