Went out to the cattle shed and worked on the F20 for awhile while last night. Found out the old girl has replaceable inserts in the rods so the 'babbit' that had spun around in #4 was actually a thick insert. By now you Farmall guys are saying "yep". The crank journal isn't scratched but the insert is junk, of course. Now I'm wondering why it turned, and the only thing I can come up with is the insert that goes in the cap was put in the rod instead when it was overhauled the last time. The head gasket has the new IH numbers on it, the pistons are aluminum and there is no ridge on the top of the cylinder. It's too bad the old girl was just left to sit and rust.Jim
