Hello in-too-deep and others. Go to www.epa.state.il.us/ I foud that on a Google search for Illinois EPA. About mis page ther is a link titled Public Notices. Take it and scroll down to a section called NPDES Permit and Hearing Notices. look for a link under the date of March 19 about private sewage disposal facilities. this will take you to where you can read the notice and many pages of comments from the public. The way I understand it, it will only apply to surface discharge systems, not to leach fields that are totally submerged. You would be exempt if you had a valid service contract with a licensed septic provider. The way I read it, the fee would be 100$ per inspection, 2 inspections peryear, unless it did not pass, then it would be inpected again in 30 days, at another 100$ fee. I heard today at work that the legislature forced them to grandfather in existing homes, but I don"t know if that is true. Call your Reps and raise a little you know what. I haven"t been able to read very much of all this mess, dial up being so slow the last week.
