Fellers, I appreciate all the replies. I understand all the recommendations..but I just happen to want one of these rifles. I always wanted one way back when they first appeared but couldn't afford one then. I just sorta got re-interested and thought maybe somebody might have one or know where one is that could be bought. I have 4 varmint rifles and I have reloaded for years. Practicality isn't the point at all, just the desire to own a gun that they don't make any longer. I used to hunt groundhogs with a burning passion and over the years, I probably owned 15 different varmint rigs. All i have now is my 700 in .223, a custom 700 varmint in 22PPC, a Sako sporter in 6PPC and a Sako 243 sporter. I also have a nice Charles Daly 22 magnum (Remington now imports them and calls it a model 5)...but I don't count it as a varmint rifle...yet it does fine work out to a 100 yards. I am less than impressed by the new 17 rimfires...but they seem to be all the rage nowadays. I'll keep looking for a 591, might glom onto one someday...it'll be just another safe queen, but I have wanted one for over 30 years.

He froze to death getting this tractor out of the barn to pull a truck out of the ditch before I was born. Anyway my dad and aunt had to sell it at the auction,
