My folks bought a Case 1370 2wd new when I was young and that spring dad hooked our 4 bottom plow to it and plowed til the right rear axle seal went out flowing fluid at a quick rate! Had to trailer the tractor to the dealor for repair and we were told that the tractor cannot plow at a tilt, some odd line about it does not pump oil to the right axle while working at an extended tilt. Tilt defined as "tires in a 12 inch furrow" as a 4 bottom plow requires when plowing. The local dealer thinks I am nuts but likes my tractor in his service bay. So I hooked up and went about my business. Well, I now have the tractor fresh from plowing fields at the Case dealer to replace the right axle seal, due to extensive fluid pouring out, same axle that went out when I was a kid. Who can help me while the tractor is apart and the dealor is still willing to listen to me? Is there an inner bearing or ??causing some kind of wear pattern I am missing? Trans makes no noise, shifts right, runs strong. The only problem we have had with the tractor since new is the hitch when you pick up equipment the unit lifts correctly and then at full height bleed/bounces, annoying but never fails. Told it was valve bleed in the lever, what ever, works wonderfully.
