Bottom line... Buy the Genesis. You won't be disappointed. I've driven many Genesis tractors. Every one was as pleasurable as the first. They still have the smoothest powershift in the industry, a very comfortable, user-friendly cab and operator controls, and the engine, OH what an engine. When these tractors were introduced in 1993, New Holland and other agricultural equipment manufacturers did not yet fall under the emissions restrictions for diesel engines. Those early non-emissionized Genesis diesels had power to no end. It was not uncommon for the 210 hp rated 8970 to easily do 250 hp right out of the factory. The Genesis was tamed down when emissions requirements caused the engines to be emissionized. They still delivered their rated hp and some above, but since it is now illegal to tamper with the injection pump yourself, those days appear to be gone. Genesis engines have excellent torque rise and fuel economy as well. They are easily comparable in these respects to the Deere, CDC, and Cummins diesels used by the other manufacturers. If you're concerned about reliability, don't be, at all. These engines have more than proven themselves in the field. Not only does New Holland use these engines in their tractors, they also use them in the combines, which are giving consistent 280 hp. As if that weren't enough, some applications have used this engine turned up to 350 hp. While I am not at liberty to say what that application is (it is still in the prototype stage), I can tell you that is has so far given exempliary service at this power level. These engines are manufactured in Basildon, England. Over in England, boat racing is a popular sport. Several Genesis diesels have found a niche in this application, souped up to turn out 1000 hp with no internal engine modifications. Pretty impressive, huh. A final comment on serviceability: No other tractor even comes close to the Genesis in ease of serviceabiltiy. Deere 8000 series is the worst. Case is better. AGCO is better still. But they can all learn a thing or two from Genesis. Take a test drive. You'll see (and feel) what I'm talking about.
