You could look around and find out what a cream puff like you had actually sells for. Then ask them to pay that price. They really do have to satisfy you after they get done huffing and puffing. They can be nice or they can be rude depending on what they think will work. You should do the same - explain "the difference between the easy way and the hard way" to their claims rep. Unless you have no other way of replacing the car than getting the settlement, wait. Make doggone sure your wife's neck is ok - and this is not to milk a medical claim. A sore neck can be a long-term problem. What will your insurance company do for you? If you can settle better with them than with the other driver's company, settle with yours and let them subrogate the claim (collect from the other company).
