Dug,
You're probably right, I go to the auction here and if there's no old salts there, then the stuff don't bring much, or if it's all old salts there it don't bring much either. God bless the yuppies, but don't allow over 2 at a time into the auction area, let them all in if I'm selling something though.
When I love to see yuppies is when I have calves going through the sale. They seem to run up the price on "cute little calves", oh boy!.
Here while back at the equipment auction I watched about 4 yuppies run an old beat up well weathered 8N up to $4700 with just a 5 ft bush hog on it. The old geezer selling it probably spent the extra change on glycerin tablets, so he didn't get to enjoy his new found wealth. Poor guy.
Just think about it a minute, in the next generation the young bucks will be going gaa gaa over old Kubota and Yanmars or maybe Satoh.
I know they mean well, I miss Papa's Studebaker pickup. Doggone shore don't want have to use it, I just miss it.
Funny what people remember fondly from childhood. I haven't noticed a run on cotton pick sacks or flowery Sunday bonnets, not even on outhouses and pitcher waterpumps either..
Arthriticly,
JJ
