JD 12A Combine - Whats it like?

Hello Wise People! Considering buying a JD 12A combine with mounted
engine. The engine runs, the machine turns.
I would prefer to convert to PTO, I understand the
engine went on a "L" styled tractor. How good was this combine on soybeans? The current owner never used it, but was told to plant "tall" oats for better pick up, which made me wonder how good it was picking up/threshing the beans. ALso, How good is JD with parts availability, and what parts should I grab for spares being that I have access to a couple junked ones too? (wheel bearings come to mind) Finally, could you folks email your response, because I have a hard time getting on the net during the week. Thanks in advance for your help.
