I have had problems of some tractors steering shaft (rod between steering wheel and steering valve) becoming disengaged by shearing a connecting pin but still having enough friction to partly steer on a flat and smooth surface. The next thing I would check is the steering valve. Disconnect the two lines going to the steering cylinders before the T's and put gauges on them. Turn wheel and see if the lines pressure up according to spec. If they don't, check main feeder line to steering valve, if pressure is sufficient then problem is probably the steering valve. If the lines to the steering cylinders pressured up to spec. then problem is probably in the steering cylinders. If the steering cylinders are two way cylinders you may have popped a piston off the end of the rod, allowing fluid to by pass. Just a thought. GEO
