Christopher; I would prefer young children start on a low profile tractor with a wide front end. An Allis "B" or "CA" with a wide front would be your ideal tractor. Lots of them around and parts are readily available. I prefer Case tractors and a "VA" or a "VAI" would be along the line of the Allis's. Farmall "A" would be a good choice. These tractors are all in the 20 horsepower range and all can be fitted with 5 foot belly mowers for mowing grass. My first tractor driving job was driving a Farmall "H" pulling a wagon and hay loader picking up loose hay while my dad and older brothers loaded the wagon. I was 6 years old... Gene
