Jim: One problem in searching for remedies is that kstones have different "chemical causes" if I may mis-speak in that fashion. The most common stone is calcium based. For those, lemonade is the most efficient remedy; second is cranberry juice. Higher concentration is proportionally more efficient. The human body is incredibly complex and the effects of simple dietary alterations are difficult to trace. Still, the juices seem to be best preventive remedy. Morphine drip, best treatment. After lots of reading--I get four kstones per annum, like clock-work--it occured to me to take much more calcium, rather than avoid it, to counter calcium formation. Odd, but it completely worked. (Or at least I tell myself.) It could have been the purchase of a Super M. Indeed, you'd better go get one. Either way, mine have stopped for a year. (Shouldn't have said that.) Mono. P.S. Have you ever had any other pain as remotely intense as a kstone? I've literally thought--but only thought--to crawl around looking for my 12 gauge and just solve the problem immediately.
