ITs pretty mcuh like Dave says, you don't need to sharpen posts....However it depends on ground conditions. If the ground is really hard and I am driving a 6" diameter post or a railroad tie, I will probably sharpen them. It just makes life a little easier. Just a FYI.. this driver delivers 70,000 lbs to the top of a post at full stroke. It would really mash a finger or anything else that got in its way. Rob
