I used to use the tried and true GM conversion for all my old tractors. But, the constantly haveing to fabricate new brakets was such a, well I got tired of it. Once people in my community found out that I did the conversions and the elctrical systems are not voodoo to me. Well here they came. To the made in America purest, I apologize. I use Subaru alternators, the "zone store" number. 14118. No infringements here. The fit JD M"s and Fords very well. For the Fords I drill out the mount holes if I have to, althought most come the right size. For the tightener bracket I use an 81 ford pickup bracket with a offset in it. Have not tried a Case yet. It does take two wires, but I am rewiring anyway. They are smaller units and generate power at lower rpms and lower amperages so the old guages can still handle it. Hope this helps someone looking to avoid those unsightly addon brakets.
