Over a month ago my Ford 2000 gas 3 cyl. tractor quit on me. So far rebuilt carb, new selenoid, new coil, drained gas tank and cleaned sediment bowl. What I need to do now is replace plugs, wires, points, condensor, rotor cap. Now my problem. Took off distributor cap and rotor. I can't get to the points because the dust cover won't come off. Everyone tells me it should just lift out if you pull on it. Tried to pry it off with a screw driver, tap on it but it will not come off. There is a metal ring around the top of the cover. Second problem, I didn't mark the plug wires, now I don't know which goes where. Firing order is 1 2 3 and the rotor turns counter clockwise. There is a one on the rotor cap. And lastly I need to know the gap for the points and plugs. If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. Not to many warm days left so I want to get it going asap.
