Bill, as an engineer who has pulled a few antiques, I can assure you of what you already know Im sure that the higher and closer the hitch point to the tractor the better to improve rear tire traction. The best situation is all weight on rears with only enough on front to steer, but I understand your problem with front end off yielding no steering. Still, I would do other things besides a lower hitch as the other poster suggested like increasing the distance out front where you hang some weight if possible. Is it possible to transfer some weights somewhere slightly to the front only enough to barely hold it down????? Looks like me and the other poster are in total agreement. Good Luck John T in Indiana
