All the hydrostatic steering systems I have used are like that. My allis tractor has a little logo in the middle and it is hardly right ways when straight. There is a little "slippage" (not really since it is fluid), but since it is not a direct linkage, there will always be a little wasted motion in the steering wheel. To prove that these systems will slip, turn the wheel all the way in one direction, then with both hands, keep turning it, it will go real slow on most hydrostatic systems, probably not the best thing in the world for the pump or motor, but it shows that these motors have a little slip due to some fluid bypass (sorry, the terms are probably confusing, best I could come up with to explain it). Baiscally, it is normal to have lost motion in the wheel causing it to be in the straight forward position according to the tires in a different spot after turning most of the time. Hope this is understandable, if not, let me know and I will try to make it a little clearer than mud... Hurst
