Hi Gary, Inside the left upper arm is a long hydraulic cylinder, anchored at the forward end, with the ram pointing back towards the rear of the tractor and the ram travels up and down inside the arm on two three-inch rollers to guide it. The cable is looped and clamped at the head of the ram, then routed back out the upper end of the arm, around a couple of pulleys and out to the top of the uprights. This gives the thing hydraulic control of the head tilt. We don't store hay inside, just build stacks. But back in the day of loose hay, the stacks would dwarf the size of a barn. :>) Allan
