Connect the large wire from the gen to the large stud on the alt. Go to the regulator and move the wire from the gen terminal to the bat terminal, mounting both wires together on this terminal. Go to an Auto parts store and buy a connector that will fit the two pronged outlet on the alt., It will come with two wires mounted to the connector. Place the connector on the two prong outlet and run the larger wire to the stud on the alt with the gen wire. Connect the small wire to the remaining unused gen wire. At the regulator remove the FLD wire. Connect this wire to a on/off switch and the switch to a 12 volt source. I hope all you did was reverse the wires on the ampmeter(no voltmeter as original equipment). When you start the tractor you will have to turn the on/off switch on to get a charge. When you stop you must turn it off. This can be eliminated by installing a new ignition switch with an accessory terminal to replace the on/off switch. Disconnect the battery while hooking up this system. A momentary short/spark can damage your alternator.
