O/T Sprayer Setup

I just got a used 200 gallon three point hitch sprayer. The trouble I am having is trying to get 30 PSI out of the 17 sprayer tips. If I bring the tractor up to RPM with all nozzles spraying and then pinch the agitate hose (the hose going into the bottom of the tank to keep the solution mixed up), I can get the required pressure. In fact it will go up to about 60 PSI (with the pressure regulator screwed in all the way).

However, I need to keep the spray solution mixed, so I can’t just clamp off the agitate hose. This sprayer has been used for the last ten years with this setup. With the agitator hose unrestricted, I get about 8 PSI at the spray tips – not enough to do a good job of covering the grass.

I have install a new pump (exact match to the orginal), but I still have the low spray tip problem

I am either doing something wrong, or my setup is wrong.

Anybody have any suggestions?

What do you guys use to keep your sprayer solution mixed up while you are spraying?
