A big thanks to all of you who posted questions and answers about your electrical problems. I spent several days looking through the archives and articles. I just finished replacing all of the wiring on my IH 240. The previuos owner said it had some electrical problems(big understatement). He was using an 8V battery (with 6 gauge cables), 12V reg(broken), and the original 6V genny was disconnected, and most of the wires were broken and exposed. I put in a new 6V battery ($55), new 6V regulator($71), all new 10 gauge wiring($40), and 2/0 battery cables($15). When I got it together it started right up just as sweet as can be!!! Thanks again, Rob.
