Something about the old tractors and machinery, and kids. They always enjoy it and become fond of whatever they grew up around, I am fortunate to have saved the one piece that had it's influence on me as a kid. Your story reminds me of how whenever I heard the old caterpillar running in the field or knew it was getting worked that day, how I'd make it my business to be there, riding along on the big seat, or just watching, never figured out why it was so interesting to me when I was a kid, but my parents still marvel at how much I enjoyed that old dozer and the bark of that slow r.p.m. 4 cyl. especially with a bladeful of earth. I've got a pair of them now and do enjoy them as a hobby, and it seems like you turn the clock back a little when you fire them up, not something you do everyday, but when you do, it's usually a lot of fun. It's kind of funny how time never stops, but when you bring back an old tractor, you capture the era.
