Thanks for the replies, guys. I don't think it's a solenoid problem, as it locks tight in o/d. I know this because when the trailer is loaded, I only use drive except when i get a big downhill stretch where i can slip 'er in o/d and watch the heat gauge drop like a rock when the converter locks up. when left in 3rd, the gauge doesn't come down nearly as fast, and you can tell it's just not in tight. Allen, the silly 'ol thing did the same trick before and after fuel filter changes. Buddy of mine has the code reader and said that after it does it's out of o/d trick that there were too many codes in it to pinpoint any 1 problem. If not for the gauge and 28,000 GVW cooler, I would have cremated the tranny long ago. I have seen 250 on it before, will run 180-190 when towing my camper when I can run in o/d. I'm pulling a heck of a load when I have temp issues. My dad has an almost identical set-up, so I have something to compare mine to. I'm just kind of stumped. I built my own Powerglide drag race tranny's so I have a working knowledge of the care and feeding of the animal.I guess if it comes down to it, I'll tear into it myself and see what I can screw up!LOL Mark
