Sheppard made several models of 2 cyl engines,And if it is the one that goes in the SD-2 tractor they are pretty rare.Unknown condition, low would be a couple of hundred dollars. Good running SD-2 could easily be worth several thousand to someone restoring an SD-2 with a bad engine as they only made around two hundred of those tractors. The 3 cylinder Sheppard tractor was the most common with about 1800 hundred of those made, but they are still rare.About the same money for a 3 cyl.,maybe a little less.Several years ago I bought a model 17 2 cylinder Sheppard Navy genset WW11 vintage for $300.Also bought a SD-2 shortblock about 10 years ago for $1200. for a tractor I was restoring. One of the Sheppard tractors I have now is a SD-3 widefront ,in good shape complete, but the engine is out and dissasembled, paid $2,500.for the whole thing.Good friend just sold a complete running SD-3 for $3,500.Hope this helps some,Im in the Md/Pa area ,they were a little more common here as they were made in Hanover,Pa.
