Can't help ya on the specific model of Ford you mentioned, but I can give you some pros and cons on buying from a rental place. First, 1300 hours is not a lot, if the tractor was properly maintained. On the plus side, a reputable rental place will usually have a pretty decent maintenance program, just to cover their butts from a liability standpoint if nothing else. On the minus side, being from a rental place means any schmuck with the cash can rent it, and beat it stupid. No experience required, so the chances of misuse through ignorance or irresponsibility are higher. Bottom line, it's like buying from anyplace else. Check it out carefully (or have it checked out) and make sure both parties understand clearly the terms and conditions of the sale as regards repairs and/or returns.
