Lets see. Diesels, I would have to say for the low end, the old D17 series 4 diesel we had. It was a great baling tractor, heavy, and hardly gave any problems. Had its first overhaul 2 years before we sold it, and that was after being on a farm where we would put about 400 hours on a tractor a year easily. For the top end of that for diesels would have to be my allis 7000 black belly. Not as heavy as the 7010. However, the weight is the perfect amount fo the engine and tranmission. It is simple to work on, and the most smooth running tractor I have ever driven. It is heavier built than my uncles 7200 deere, I took it over and we compared them. Just look at the allis HD front end vs the front end on the deere of the same size, over double the size. Also, allis had the best castings of any tractor company. The same castings that is my rear end housing or tranmission housing is made from the same people who designed the castings for the turbines in the Hoover Dam. For gassers, not really sure, but would have to say the D19 gas is supposed to be a great gasser. The 262 is said to have made a great overbuilt gas engine. Also, I bet the 190xt gas with a 301 gas is a real smooth motor considering how smooth the turbo diesel is. Thats my list. Hurst

They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
