350 TBI? WD40 or PB blaster in TBI unit, spray injecter tips good, hose down throttle plate. Mix some chainsaw 2 stroke mix- 1/2 gallon enough at about 16:1 and use to trickle prime down throat of TBI. Rock engine to make sure it is freed by turning with fan belt first then short turn with starter. Trickle in couple tablespoons of fresh gas/oil mix, then try starter about 10 seconds- should fire on the fresh gas mix. If it fires, then sputters and stops you know spark and compression good enough, just have to drain and replace gas and filters before trying again. You may have difficulty siphoning tank if antitheft baffle is at end of tank tube. No spark- check ignition module and connections, should have 3wire module for that year. Compression loss on a couple cylinders could be stuck valve- probably valve in guide with corrosion, maybe stuck lifter, 5 years is possible but usually needs longer and exposed to weather before really stuck. Fuel pump in tank is possible stuck, not sure about if '87 was in tank- I think it was, but could be external next to tank. TBI shouldn't have fuel pump on engine. Have fun, let us know how it turns out. RN

Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
