Mark, many years ago the local NAPA had reman. engines for Ford tractors and I think they were blue. Why don't you check the compression on the engine if you really want to know the condition of the ring /valve sealing. Autozone sells a cheap kit with gauge/hose/adapters for around $20/. If the one cylinder in question is low on compression squirt a little 30 wt oil in the cylinder and retest the compression and if it goes up it is most likely a ring problem. If the compression doe not change it is a valve problem. I suggest that you switch the plug in the questionable cyl. with another and also run a different plug wire to this cylinder. The plug wires have a wire for a conductor and not carbon as used on cars,correct? Observe the electode on the plug and see if you can see a difference. If you need assistance doing the compression test just repost. Good luck
