There is a 50M gallon plant (will expend to 100M this year) right on the edge of town here. The steam plume has certainly changed the horizon. I'll venture a guess that it raises to close to 1000' on a still day. It's out of the way of any flight paths (other than hospital helicopters), so that question has never came up. If I can remember, I'll get a photo of it someday for you.
