Right on both counts. My granddad drove a Cat 12 for the county. It would darn near turn on a banked curve by itself if he leaned the wheels in the direction of the curve. Also, leaning the wheels uphill while working on a side cut can help keep the machine stable. It also helps when either moving forward or back over loose fill. Those things are surprisingly agile, especially with the articulated frames and powershift transmissions they have nowadays.
