Bern............Agree with you entirely about the air filter issue. I guess never thought to go to that much detail about it but glad you did bring it up. As far as the valve adjusting goes. Is it a good Idea? Yes!! Is it recommended in most owner's manuals? Yes!! Do people do it like you said? No!! But at the same rate I think that apparently It comes down to how much of a fine line you want to draw when it comes to taking very fine care of your equipment. My only testimony is My 706 IH with the german diesel in it. OVER 6500 hours on it and still not a bolt turned on the engine including the valve cover. Of course she don't have the power she used to anymore and smokes like a devil..............but that's pretty impressive to me for never adjusting the valves after the break-in. Personally though........like you I would recommend it if one has the time or money to spend to have another do it for them. Good thoughts and advice bern.
