So have I. CAD$1.079/liter here in Manitoba and has been over $1 since last last summer. CAD$4.90/USgal = US$4.14/USgal. And I commute 450 miles one way to work. Not much point whining about it. Only intelligent thing to do is conserve where you can. Don't drive unneccessarily. Plan you trips to combine them, so you're not running to town every few hours. Slow down to speed limits. It often seems the ones complaining the loudest are the same ones that insist on doing 80mph pulling a trailer far too heavy for their truck, or the ones who make one trip for groceries, another trip for beer, another trip for a sheet of plywood, another trip for a box of screws, etc. At the farm, we're only 15 miles from town, but we treat that 15 miles as though it were 150, only go into town when we REALLY need to. It only gets worse in the winter, when you have to let vehicles warm up every time you start them. Same goes for the tractors. I used to start the 666 gasser to feed one round bale, every day. For this winter, I'll be feeding 5 or 6, and only starting it once a week.
