Your roof will experience two types of destructive force. Snow and wind from above and wind uplift from below. Fasten the metal on the same rib up and down the sheet, leave the area between the fasteners across the sheet so that the metal can expand and contract. It is my belief that the metal itself tends to loosen the fasteners from expansion and contraction. Fasten it so that the metal can move with minimal effect on the fasteners.
