to the best of my knowledge: when OMC was still alive, Johnson was white paint and Evinrude was blue, other than that they were practically the same engine OMC fell on hard times and the remnants were bot by Bombardier, according to my boat dealer he can still get parts for my OMC engine if it starts and runs you are doing good, if it charges the battery you are even better, about time your engine was built, the motors were built for power, mid-70's on they dialed them in for lot better fuel consumption lets hear some other opinions
