You just asked the multi million dollar question. "what does it cost the manufacturer to built an auto?" I have no idea how to get that info, but it is kind of interesting these days when everything else like computers and stereos and tvs keep going down in price yet the automobile keeps going up. Used to be a tool box full of tools would mortgage a house, now you can get those same tools for the change in your pocket.(so to speak) There has to be a huge payout somewhere along the line for an automobile to cost that much. Especially when they're using cheaper and cheaper materials to build them.
