The tone of the postings here suggests that the only reason auctions exist is so that a buyer may buy below the market. Maybe there are other reasons like to establish what the market is and to allow the buyer and seller to do a fare deal. Too bad the guy with Alzheimer's who sold under the market was not selling at public auction. His buyer may not agree with this, may brag about his bargain for a long time.
