Bev.......what Jim sez.......and...... There are very few serial-number or year-of-production specific changes to any of the N-Tractors that are NOT INTUITIVE OBVIOUS. Like the change from the 4-nipple frontmount distributor to the 5-nipple sidemount distributor. ...or... the 7-nipple dealer installed 6-cylinder Funk conversion. ...or... 10" brakes vs 14" brakes. There are NO MICROMETER REQUIRED specific changes to worry about. Simple, eh? tip: ONLY 8N's have 4-speed tranny, 2N/9N's have 3-speed tranny and were also commonally converted to the 6-cylinder FUNK kit. Records are un-clear, but it is guessed 6000-8000 6-cylinder Funk-kits were produced and dealer installed in nearly 1,000,000 N-Tractors produced from 1939-1952. There were also some 250-kits for the awesome Ford flathead V-8 conversion..........respectfully, Dell
