Figure approximately 20 cubic ft per ton or 100 lbs per ft^3. Pea gravel for a driveway? That's pretty small stuff. Out here in Colorado 3/4" roadbase material is the norm. That packs down for a pretty smooth driving surface. I use pea gravel for landscaping. It always remains loose. I wouldn't think it alone would make for a very good driving surface-unless your neighbor wants to spray gravel every time he hits the gas...
