I don"t how much I can help. I have a friend who just replaced the seals in his power steering pump because he was getting motor oil in his power steering oil reservoir on a 360. The local long dealer said this would fix it. However we discovered that there were 2 different pumps that were used even though they looked the same on the outside. The first set of two seals was wrong. The inside diameter fit the shafts, but the outside diameter was too small to fit the housing. The pump he had required only one seal. His steering system is the power-assisted steering with the hydraulic cylinder on the left side as is mine. I have a 445 and a 360. My dealer had to contact Long and we got the correct parts. The tractor has not been run enough to see if it is fixed. From what I know (which may not be very much), the only place that engine oil can mix with hydraulic or power steering oil is at these pumps. I have the seals here that we did not use. My parts guy told me that depending on which series of pumps was on the tractor, both pumps used the same seals. BY now, you are probably totally confused. My parts guy is Robbie at 336-885-4582. He may be able to help you. He is a great guy and used to work on Longs at another dealer. Sorry for the length of this post, but maybe this will help. You can find dealer locations at farmtrac.com
