Is LP 3020 Taboo?

I've noticed the majority of all 3020 discussions on the forum are of the diesel and gas models. Not much mentioned about the LP. I have a chance to buy my retiring neighbors 64 model 3020 LP PS WF. He bought the tractor in the early 80's mounted with a two row cotton stripper and has done nothing other than strip cotton with it. The generous old fellow has asked me to take the tractor and try it out til next January. If I like it then he wants $5000. If not just return it and all it costs me was my time to remove the stripper and mount the fenders and draw works. The rebuilt engine has 2600 hours on it. The tin is in excellent shape and after plowing and using this tractor the past week I find absolutely nothing wrong and no leaks. The power shift seems to work great and basically this thing is a dream compared to the lp 730 I'm running. He's given me the owners manual which has notes from the original owner showing where he mounted this cotton stripper in 1966 (976 hours)which has been on the tractor until last week when I removed it. It's clear by the draw works that they saw minimal useage. The tractor has been well maintained and taken care of and seems to be a good deal. But with very little discussions on LP 3020s with PS trannys I'm wondering if they might be taboo? Any opinions? I'm looking to sell my two LP 730s (One running and one not) to cover most of the cost of the 3020. Tom N Texas
