Sure... 1 hp is 33,000 foot-pounds per minute. P = 1.903995548 * S * T / 10000 P = hp S = RPM T = torque in ft pounds. So T = 10000 * P / (1.903995548 * S) The constants are 2 * pi / 33000 because a 1 foot moment arm travels 2 pi feet per revolution. Next time you forget, check the handbooks for the formulae for a Prony brake, the tool used to measure torque. Gerald
