Len, To replace the coil on the 9N, 2N, & 8N, with the front mounted distributor, all you have to do is remove the wire on the top terminal, un-snap the bail and remove the coil. Installation is the reverse. Install a new gasket between the bottom of the new coil and the distributor. Looking at the bottom of the coil are two terminals, a spring, and a flat silver tab. Be sure to slightly bend the tab down to a more flat position as it will contact the terminal on the distributor cap. When you set the coil in place, be sure to set it down onto the distributor squarely, and secure it with the bail, and re-connect the top wire.
