The syntax varies somewhat from engine to engine, but in general there are two major tips: 1. Use quote marks. The engine will only hit on things that are an exact match for what's in the quotes. Example John Deere GP will hit on any document that contains any of the three words. "John Deere GP" will only hit on documents that contain the entire phrase. 2. Use Boolean (or logic) functions. John Deere .NOT. GP will hit on pages that have John Deere, but eliminate the ones that refer to GPs. Other logic functions are AND and OR. Exact syntax varies from engine to engine, check the help file for the engine you're using. Also, different engines will return different results.
