In the 50's I worked at my father's Deere dealership shop, and was plagued by 3 insurance salesmen one day,to the point that I asked him to get rid of them. He said, "no problem"! He walked up and introduced himself to them, told them I worked for him, and that his shop labor was $25.00 per hr.(1950's wages) and that he had assigned me that particular job to do. He told them if they wanted to continue talking to me they would have to they would pay the shop labor rate in advance. He asked them how much time they wanted to buy starting with a 1 hour minimum, and we were not bothered with them anymore. Gene Davis
