Johnsdeere I have been in a Hydraulic store, Builders Hardware, Brafasco, John Deere, even some gas stations on major highways and others, that DO NOT put prices on their products, or on the shelf that could be changed at a moments notice (faster than the price of diesel). I for one will not shop in these places, it’s like telling me, if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it, well guess what, I’m not there to be intimidated. I’m in there to SPEND and (or) get an idea what things cost for a future purchase. Can you imagine you need something that you think costs $10.00 and it’s $46.27 plus tax? Or going to Wall Mart and not knowing the price until you check out? If their retail sales are 20% of their total sales, don’t they think if there were prices posted, guys like me would visit their store more often? Maybe they might see a 20+% increase in sales, that could translate in more profit, that they don’t have now, if they are not charging 2-15% too much to start. Maybe that’s why they don’t put the price up front. Just put the prices up front and give the dealers their discount.
