Thanks for all your advice! I went to a hydraulic shop today and they were able to order a link belt from Gates Corp for me. A 5 foot length is about 45.00. The sales man said it would work on my backhoe engine. This is the belt form the crankshaft to the water pump to the alternator. I know the continuous belt would be much cheaper, but this would entail a time consuming unbolting of the hydraulic pump shaft to get the belt through. I'll let you know how long this link belt lasts. I saw on the Fenner Website that supposedly, these link belts are a permanent fix. I hope they are right! Thanks again for your kind advice!
