I can support what Truck and some of the other guys said. I had 3 acres cleared by two dozer operators. One knew how to save the topsoil, smooth and level, and then recover with the topsoil. The other pretty much buried a lot of topsoil in big stump holes. I get good clover in a spot and then little stunted plants 2 feet away - so get a dozer operator who thinks farming if you can. Also, the biggest harvest for the first year is going to be roots no matter what. I picked up roots for months. What helped was a neighbor with a monster disc that could cut everything down below in pieces. He then used a big harrow to rake them up and pile them at my feet (while smiling about me having said I'd gotten the field clean). By the next year about all roots had rotted. But my good neighbor had fun referring to my "stick farming" operation in the meantime. Good Luck
